Rifle/Pistol Range Baffle Project Update
Our volunteers are hard at work bringing the range baffle project to completion. The project isn't quite ready yet, but I thought I share some pictures of the work and the progress so far to give us all a little something to look forward to when the range reopens soon.
Once the work is done, you'll notice things have changed as soon as you open the door. There is no sky visible from the firing line.
The first frame, standing up by itself.
The second row of baffles coming together.
An overview of the baffle system.
The view of the 100-yard berm from the firing line. Note the roof is not complete yet.
The view from the pistol bay.
This is the 200-yard berm. The roof hadn't been started here yet at the time I took the picture.
Here's what it looks like from the rifle range door.
The baffle system will not affect the usability of the 500-yard firing line. Who else is excited for High Power to start back up?
Once you walk out past the new baffles to set or retrieve your target, the wonderful natural beauty of the range setting remains undisturbed.
